Maya has extensive experience advising international investors on cross-border renewable energy projects, as well as advising both borrowers and lenders on financing for renewable energy projects in Japan. She previously worked in the cross-border project finance team of a Japanese megabank, handling matters relating to natural resources, power and energy, and infrastructure. Maya has also provided banks, financial institutions, and other corporate clients, most of which operate their businesses globally, with compliance and regulatory advice, as well as advice on a variety of governance matters. She is actively involved in D&I projects aimed at promoting the active participation of women, and has organized numerous D&I seminars and other similar events for corporations. She is also actively involved in Climate Change related projects and has organized Climate Change seminars and events.

Upon entering Nishimura & Asahi in 2004, he worked at the Tokyo office for clients both in Japan and overseas on corporate legal affairs in general, focusing on M&A projects. After studying abroad in the United States, he decided to work at the Fukuoka office, which had just opened, in order to provide valuable legal services as "Nishimura & Asahi", targeting companies in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions as clients, and began working at the Fukuoka office in 2014. At the Fukuoka office, he has been involved in many domestic and overseas M&A projects targeting various industries, mainly for clients in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions. In addition, he has been conducting research on various laws and regulations, including the Companies Act and the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and provided advice on various legal problems regarding the business of the clients. Furthermore, he has prepared and reviewed sales agreements, service agreements, license agreements, confidentiality agreements and other agreements in Japanese and English.

Kazumi Nishitani has wide-ranging expertise in finance, especially in the renewable energy sector. She has been involved in numerous cross-border renewable energy transactions as lenders’ counsel, provided advice to foreign investors considering entry into the Japanese renewable energy market, and she has extensive experience with cross-border finance projects, including matters such as natural resources, power production, and infrastructure, among others.
