Tokyo partner Takato Masuda authored an article titled "The Compatibility of the UTPR and Japan’s Tax Treaties,” published in Tax Notes International Vol.114. The article also appeared on the Tax Notes Today International website on May 20, 2024. This article is based on his previous research paper, "The Controversy Over the Tax Treaty Compatibility of the UTPR," which earned the International Fiscal Association USA Branch Writing Prize.
